Where did u manage to find the Contrabass Clarinet and how much was it? Also how much bigger is it compared with Bass, if you don't know, don't worry about it, i'm just curious!

I've seen that instrument. A girl in my band (a high school band) is playing it. It's also called a Contralto when it's pitched in Eb. It's pretty big, but I'm not sure how much bigger han the bass clarinet as I haven't used both of them or seen them right next to each other. Well, I hope I helped your curiosity a bit.

Post this question on the Clarinet discussion group at:

There are a number of players of the Contra-alto who regularly look at that forum.

I play a Bb soprano clarinet and as my typing I am holding my Eb contrabass clarinet right now. And I telling you, you are better off on a soprano clarinet because it easier.

I play both the bass and contrabass. I have the folded design contra, so it isn't much bigger than my bass in total length. The only problem is carrying the horns, the stand for the horns and my music. I finally got a two wheel dolly to pack it all around.
