I'm playing first part in Hallelujah Chorus and have problems tonguing 16th notes up to tempo which is about quarter note = 135. If I play the quarter notes without pushing the register key so that I'm not in the altissimo, I have no problem clearly articulating the notes. Is the position of tongue on reed different on the altissimo notes than it is for notes in the lower register? I don't think it's a breath support issue because I'm aware of that and keeping my breath steady and supported. It's almost like my tongue is spastic when tonguing fast on the higher notes but not the lower notes. I plan to discuss this with my teacher tomorrow, but would appreciate any comments you may have. Thanks.

Higher notes need more breath support than lower ones so it could still be part of the problem.
By the way that seems a tad fast for the Hallelujah Chorus.

Hats off to Dee and the tempo. This chorus is marked at MM 72. Maybe the chorus needs some breath support work as well as the wind players. MM 135 suggests disaster tomusical style.

Perhaps I'm mistaken about the speed. I'll know tonight when I go to rehearsal. Thanks for the responses, especially Dee's which applies regardless of what speed it turns out to be.
