One thing that puts me of Rossi instruments is that the LH joint and the RH joint are in one piece. While this may be ideal acoustically, doesn't it create intonation problems? When I'm playing in a very warm environment (such as an orchestra pit), I often have to pull out in the middle as well as at the barrel to tune down enough. Obviously with Rossi instruments you can't do this. I'd be interested to know how people playing Rossi instruments solve this problem?

I dont know this for myself but i have heard people complain about where the register vent is placed either too far up or to far down and it messes with intonation with the upper register? ... I really don't know... I thought i would just mention that.

I have had no problems with the intonation on my Rossi. It is interesting to note, however, that mine came with four barrels.

I have no problems with intonation with my Rossi and find that only having one joint eliminates the problems associatied with putting two joints together. I also am crazy about the wooden thumb rest which is ergonomically designed so that your thumb doesn't tire. I can play all day without it getting sore.
My Rossi came with 2 barrels and I find I rarely use the longer one, except perhaps in the summer.
As a matter of fact I like the instrument so much I am getting another....this time in Rosewood and a larger bore. I will report on it in a month.

BTW If you want to know about the Rossi check out the website.
I believe it is www.rossiclarinet.cl Mr. Rossi is very personable and I am ordering directly from him...it costs less than going through IMS or WWBW.

I perform on large bore, rosewood Bb and A Rossi clarinets as well as Buffets. Any intonation problems I may have, or had, on the one piece Rossi would not have been solved by being able to pull apart the middle sections of the clarinet. Being able to adjust the length at the bell or barrel has sufficed. In general, there has been very little adjusting needed.
