A student of mine has a Yamaha YCL61 that is wooden. It needs a better barrel. Does anyone know what after market barrels would fit a YCL61? Thanks for any info you can provide.

I think Backun would fit, I have seen many players recently with that combination Yamaha+backun barrel/bell so if possible I suggest you test them to see if you can get better results.
Istvan Kohan also seems to play on aftermarket barrels with his Yamaha clarinet, but I have no idea what he uses.
To be honest most barrels will fit mouthpieces are somewhat standard and the upper tenon is also somewhat standard, the barrells meant for R13s have a very clear goal though so I don't think they will have huge results on other instruments.
Try as many as you can.

I played on Yamaha clarinets from that era and used buffet moennigcand chadash barrels with no problems (in fact, they were improvements)

I have a restored YCL-61 that is playing fantastically well with a Backun Lumiere cocobolo 65mm barrel.

The Chadash gets another vote from me, the reverse taper.
