Any help would be greatly appreciated. We are looking to move my daughter into an intermediate model clarinet. We are very confused as to the difference between "Evette" models. We are looking at an "Evette" marked "Buffet Crampon" with a serial #E120XXX. It looks to be wood, but comments we've read say most "Evette" models are plastic. Also, how old would this instrument be? Please, any help would be welcomed!

Evette was the third or bottom line of the Buffet offerings. Middle line was Evette & Schaeffer, which has caused some confusion. And then, of course, the top line was labeled Buffet. The Evette was made as both wood and plastic instruments. Some of the wood examples were quite good. The wood Evette is equivalent to the present day Buffet E-11 and the Evette & Schaeffer to the present Buffet E-13. I can't help with the serial number. The numbers shown on Sneezy are for the Buffet top lines and then the E-13 serials shown would cover the Evette & Schaeffer and later Buffet E-13s.
