Hello everyone!
I was just curious what metronome markings people are at for tongue-release staccato ---tonguing sixteenth notes?
Thanks!

If you are studying the basic technique for staccato, then a slow progression of notes is recomended. mm60 per note. Speed is not the issue, but rather the tongue action involved. Hope this helps.

No that's not what I was asking William--but good advice indeed! I was just asking what tempo other people have their tonguing up to, because speed is important once you have the technique under control.
So, please---what tempo are you people at for tonguing staccato sixteenth notes? I'm just curious.
THanks
Julia

Good for you, D Dow--the best I could ever do was 16ths at 114, single-tongued.
People either "have it" or they don't, I guess.
