What kind of books, music, etc. are you looking for--method books, solos, etudes, exerpts?

There is tons of music available on e-bay, most of it quite reasonable and in pretty fair shape.

umm...what do you mean by music books... Could you be a little more specific?? Are you thinking classical?, jazz?, pop tunes?

Since you are 14 so it might be worth mentioning a few things about music which have been mentioned before on this board. Yes, music is quite expensive, and I suspect no one enjoys paying for it. That said, the cost includes royalties to composers who without that income might have to give up composing to flip burgers etc to make a living. It also pays the overhead costs of publishers who keep large amounts of stock of pieces that are not purchased all that frequently. In other words, the cost helps to insure that there will be music available to play in the future.

With 3 musicians in our family, I'd hate to know how much we've spent over the years. If you think clarinet music is expensive, try buying 4 part choral scores or piano music!

You probably know that most music of the last 100 years (roughly) is covered by copyright and cannot be legally copied or posted without permission. (Some older music is also copyrighted in more recent editions or arrangements.)

Of course it is legal to buy used music and you might want to take the above advice about e-bay.

it's really not too expensive to buy a book of music...one of the rubank books i have was only about $9 or so...most people spend more than that on some crappy eminem cd.
