Is there a recent recording of Puccini's Tosca by the MET where Riccardo Morales is playing the Act III solo?
BTW, does anyone know when it will be anounced who gets the job in Phily? My bets are on Riccardo.

I heard that there are three candidates... I know Morales and Michael Rusineck (sp) of Pittsburgh are two of them, i'm not sure who is the third. They will each get a chance to perform with the orchestra for a time before a final decision is made. This is just what i've heard so i'm not sure its 100% right. If it is right, is this a common practice among orchestras?

From my understanding from past discussions (not on this board) the three candidates will rotate for a few weeks each at the beginning of the next season. For example......3 weeks for each player, and then a decision will be made after that time. It may even take all season to make the decision. All three are great players and would add greatly to the orchestra in Philadelphia.
