 Apples & Onions?

Leaving necessary repairs and modifications out of it, there is a Boosey & Hawkes 2-20 with Kell modifications and a R. Malerne (Standard)listed for bidding on e-Bay. Given a level playing field, which would be the better instrument for a "student" (not being classed as the better "buy" as both are not even considered at all by the "R-13 Mafia."?

I'm not a R13 mafia member but, in my opinion, there are lots of others available that are probably better buys for students than the two you mention. No charge for the opinion.

You really do want an R-13, take my advise.

I'll have Tony "fingers" Santori stop by with one so you can consider purchasing the R-13 that I, Sonny "reeds" Napolinio have personally selected for you, so that you might wanna buy it, should you feel the need to indulge. No cash, no problem.... you can make payments each Monday at my office.

Oh, BTW, there is no R-13 Mafia... Got it?

Bob Arney - you had a question??????

Oh, yes. Tell a serious student to get a new R-13. Tell a so-so student to get an E-11. If any other agony stick suits him/her, he/she should get that one instead. Sounds like a modified, reworked, almost like it was designed, don't know what's been done to it, horn isn't going to work for anyone, 'cept a pro who can figger it out.

Stick to the basics for now. And don't forget to spend more time on the mpc selection than on the horn.

Bad mpc., bad horn, no matter what model/quality.
