usually, (like for my mpc caps) i submerge it in boiling water with baking soda. the tarnish disappears immediately. I don't even need to polish.

do you think I could do this with my ligature?

or is there a better way?

The procedure is to line a small plastic or glass condainer with alluminum foil shiny side up, add the item to be cleaned and cover with boiling water and add bakeing soda, the common household type.

For Ligs and mp caps use a pyrex 8 ounce measuring cup and add 1 tablespoon of bakeing soda and enough boiling water to cover. The amounts of bakeing soda is not critical. The silver will be tarnish free in a few seconds. This was covered in previous post and some posters were able to explaine the chemical reaction.
