Sorry to be redundant because I said something about this in another posting but think that it deserves it's own topic.
Richard Hawkins has promised (my own paraphrasing) to sweep away the fog and demistify mouthpiece design and function in his master class at the Kennesaw State University - Clarinet Symposium, April 20, at KSU (note the web address is >http//www.kennesaw.edu< - look at the map for the music department building). He will also perform in a duet with Joe Eller in the afternoon, and Atlanta area colleges (Emory, Georgia State, U. of GA, Georgia Tech., Morehouse, Spellman, etc.) will get into some avante-garde clarinet pieces. The "big 4" will probably be there with their wares too.
If you live anywhere near Atlanta this should be a must do event. The neighboring states - Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky are ususally well represented in KSU's annual Clarinet Symposium.

Don, I was confused at first too because Kansas State Univ. comes up when you put the letters into the browser and that is why I spelled out the web address. I would drive across country if I could learn to demystify mouthpieces (but the 20 minute drive will suffice I hope!). I will take good notes and hope to share when the next questions (which will invariably happen) about MP's come along.
