I don't know of any quotes but I've read nearly everything he's ever published. Some of his works do contain song lyrics of rather questionable taste, though I find them amusing just the same. In the interest of good taste, I'll refrain from quoting any of them in this forum.

One of the most famous of Vonnegut's music quotations is:
"The only specifically American inventions that have made this a better world are Alcoholics Anonymous and jazz, and jazz has no bad side effects."

Oh! Speaking of Kurt Vonnegut, Jr., he has heard me play! He is one of my favorite authors and is originally from Indianapolis. A couple of years ago, the Indiana Historical Society had the grand opening of their beautiful new headquarters in Indianapolis. The night before, they had a banquet honoring some famous Indianans, such as Jane Pauley, David Letterman and Kurt Vonnegut Jr. The only one who was present the next day for the grand opening was Vonnegut and who played at the opening ceremony but the Indianapolis Municipal Band, of which I am a member.
One other famous person who has heard me play in person was Richard Nixon, when I was in high school and he was campaigning for re-election as President.
