I recently attended a concert of Don Oehler and the Ciompi Quartet in with Don played the Mozart Clarinet Quintet on a basset clarinet. I really enjoyed the performance, and the parts which used the lower range of the basset clarinet certainly made musical sense. I am surprised, as a semi-collecter of clarinet recordings, that I am not aware of any recordings of Mozart's Quintet on the basset clarinet. of course there of several of his concerto on the basset clarinet.

I thought there was a recording of the quintet by David Shifrin that uses basset clarinet.

Charles Neidich with L'Archibudelli's reading of the Mozart Quintet is very thoughtful and heartfelt. From Sony Vivarte. He plays on a basset clarinet.
