Japanese cane

Has anyone successfully made good reeds out of Japanese cane?

Yes. I know that most reed came comes from France (Spain) and Chile, but has anyone attempted to make reeds from Japanese (or Asian) cane with any degree of success?

I think they are true. Just look at the heel. Their pores are
very dense. They inform us in the cold summer of early 1980's
many Var region plantations were ruined and many owners quit the jobs.

By the way NKK-Planning made Japanese cane reeds but now they
seem to have stopped manufacturing. The reason they made these was that they considered reeds grwon up in Japan is best to be played in
Japan. i.e. Best climatized.
NKK is Nagamatsu Kan-gakki(wind instrument) Kenkyusyo(institute) and
its chief is Mr.Nagamatsu, a professional clarinetist.

One of the sponcers of this BBS sells Alexander reeds. I remember.
