What relationship, if any, is there between bore diameter and ease of playing?

Many of us believe there is a relationship, with "small" bores [14.6 mm] being "classical" and "large" bores of 15.0 mm being 'jazz" in character, with greater "playing ease" . To me, its almost impossible to prove, in that I feel that the matching of mouthpiece bores to those of the barrel and upper joint, as well as mp lays and reeds are more significant factors. Also in earlier thread/posts, some of us reported that much [Big Easy] jazz is/was played on smaller bore horns!! Comments? Don
