Graduate Schools?

I am graduating from College with a B.A. in Performance and thinking about graduate study. From those of you who have experienced this, i was wondering if you took some time off between your grad. and undergrad. work? Not off from playing (Id sooner play in traffic.), but off to just digest all the stuff that gets crammed down your throat in four years. (Five in my case b/c of a hand surgery.) Also, are there any schools you would recommend over others? I really dont know who teaches where or anything like that. Your help is appreciated.

For those of you that wonder...yes there is a car behind my addy. =)

Make the teacher you want to study with the "priority", not the school or location.

Make shure you take a lesson with the teachers that you are considering for a graduate program. This is very telling. You may work wonderfully with a teacher and feel that you are going to learn alot from that teacher. However it could also be the opposite or just in the middle. You may not be able to stand the teacher and wouldn't feel comfortable learning from them.
Also prepare questions for the teacher as well as for the school personell during a tour. You are interviewing/auditioning the school just as much as the school is interviewing/auditioning you!
Finally be yourself. Dont put up a front and not act like yourself during the interview. Someone is more likely to be accepted if they seem genuine and tue rather than someone who acts so egotistical that they need a larger room for their ego than the room that they are in.
Go where you feel most comfortable and feel like you will gain the most from your education. Keep a positive mind set and make shure that you are going to feel proud of your achievment after you are finished with your degree.
