I have an old Vandoren b-flat sop. clarinet mpce. It is marked B45 and it has a lyre symbol next to it. Does anyone know if this symbol denotes anything??
Thank You!!!!

Al, Sounds like a Vandoren B45 Lyre mouthpiece. You can find it in the products section on their website:

I play a B-45 lyre, it has a very open tip and works best with soft reeds 2 or 2 1/2

Ditto to beejay's comment.
The Lyre mps are also more open that their non-Lyre counterparts and I think I heard somewhere that they are "easier" to play than the non-Lyres.
