Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone has done the auditons for Paris Conservatoire before, or will be taking early next year. Just after any insight anyone may have who has experience.
thanks

Auditions are the same everywhere, but in France it's probably a bit more formal (french schools have a very old fashion way of teaching). There is a huge competition since they take only a few students (since their are only two teachers: Pascal Moragučs and Michel Arrignon).
The trick about auditions is that you get the audition material only two months before the audition.. SO you have to be able to work fast, or know all your repertoire allready. The pieces wich are used usually are for example weber concertino (which is on the list of possible pieces).
If you want some info go here : http://www.cnsmdp.fr
There's also the Lyon conservatoire which is the equivalent of Paris :

regards
Daniel
