Mozart Clarinet Concerto

OH my oh my... is this one heck of a question ... I'm a firm believer that 1st impressions are very important so in keeping with that thought pattern my question is how do the professionals attack and execute the 1st note of the Mozart? Ya know the opening G after the orchestra does it's grand "procession" of sorts leading up to the clarinets even grander entrance... i love this piece and i'm becoming extremely nit picky so i'm finessing, refining, and cleaning... do they start with the tongue on the reed, do they start with it off and "slide" into it so to speak by starting the air early and letting the G speak, or do they do some variation of sorts? I hope i phrased this question well...

If you like the breath attack, try starting the air just before the note is to sound and then initate the G with a soft tongue action. This also works well for the first note of Webers CONCERTINO, the pianissimo Bb start. This method insures an accurate, but yet soft and subtil attack. A pure breath attack is too insecure and should be reserved only for cool jazz. Good Clarineting!!!!!!
