Recently, and apparently randomly, after making a successful post, I am getting a "Returned Mail" message in my email. An attachment is worded something like the following. Any ideas as to why? Are others getting this.
The original message was received at Thu, 6 Dec 2001 05:00:17 -0500 (EST)

G NZ - I occasionally get a similar message to a post, but the post has always been made on the BB, so I have disregarded it, but Mark C should know of it, TKS, Don

Only one I've had was to reddy@photronics.com. Simply says that as far as photronics.com is concerned, "reddy" does not exist. When filling in "Your Email" on the phorum reply form, if you misspell your email address, then check the box to email replies, those who post will get an "undeliverable" notice.

It's because people put bogus email addresses in the header rather than putting in their correct address, and then post and ask that all further replies be emailed to them. Not very polite ... and every time you post to that thread after that you'll get a bounce since the "From" address is set to the new poster (that's so you can have "offline" conversations).
Please, either supply a correct email address or none at all!

BEWARE, it may also be a residual effct of being infected with the Badtrans worm. The worm sends out email to every address in your address book, replicating itself in the process. If you have incomplete or non-functional addresses in your address book, the email that the worm sends out will be returned with that message.

I always put my real address, so I must have made a typo or something. Thanks Mark for explaining.

No, Sarah, it's when someone else puts in a bad address that you get the bounces because the email destioned for that person isn't correct.
