ET AL,
Here is a Selmer I've only recently become aware of and have not seen one as of yet. I've searched the sight but may have missed "Console" somewhere.
Can anyone shed some light as to just what this "Made in France" clarinet is, and it's quality/lack of? I believe I've heard mention of both resin and wood Consoles.
Thanks for any help,
Rich Feldman

I came across the exact same thing a couple of days ago. Although the mark does say Selmer be assured they are only a stencil made by one of the other French makers, or even a German maker. The trade mark requirements for country of origin are based on the works cost not where they are actually made which is how Olds/ Armstrong etc. get away with made in the USA when they are manufactured or at least assembled in Mexico.
I was not able to accurately say where or who made the Console. But a couple of months ago I overhauled a clarinet marked Selmer London made in France and from experience can say that this particular instrument was made by Cuesnon in France. I also had a Cuesnon German Boehm in the workshop so I compared them and even swapped some keywork around and they were virtually identical. There is a possibility that the Console was made in Germany. To this day Buffet plastic clarinets, not Greenlines, are made in Germany by Schreiber.
I also distantly remember seeing a plastic Console around somewhere which did not mention Selmer. It was made in England and was crap! Hope I have not confused you too much.
