Jettel wrote "Preliminary Studies to 'The Accomplished Clarinettist'" (two t's on my copy) This is three books. I have book one. I have learned and am relearning the 15 etudes in this book to get my fingers more free.
"The Accomplished Clarinettist" is _also_ a series of books by Jettel. I want to know what kinds of things are in these books. The scales that I read about in clarinet archives, are these part of book two? Each of these three books are kind of expensive. Before I dish out the $'s for book one, I want to know what I will be getting for $40.
I don't need scales arpeggios... I have Bearman. I want more good studies in the same style as the Jettel I have. _Is it worth it?_ I like the Jettel part one of the "Preliminary" that I have. I want more of the same.

All of the 6 Jettel books, Accomplished and Prelims to the Accomp. are prety much the same thing. All far out and odd meters. If you can play the Prelims, the Accomp. Cl. should be little problem.
The scales are part of his Klarinettenschüle (Clarinet School) book 2. Basically a method book series. Book one is like the first part of Klose, discussing basic clarinet asembly through basic music reading and so on. Book two is his Scale book. I actually like it more than some asspects of the Baermann. He covers more Wholetone patterns and interval exercises. And in each scale he has a pattern that is requires you to actually pay attention than just playing the same notes up and down. Hard to explain, but it's a good book to have. The third book of the seris is etudes easier but similar to the Prelimary studies and Accomp. Cl. Much more melodic than the Prelims. and Accomps.

I don't know many specifics about the Jettel books, but my teacher, David Singer, studied with him. A few of the exercises that he got from Jettel have helped me a lot. I hope that gives you some help.
