i am in 8th grade-my 4th year of playing the clarinet. i a very dedicated player-i practice daily. I'm also first chair of my band. But i have a small problem regarding the secound chair clarinetist. She's the high school band director's daughter. She's stopped going to lessons and caring about her clarinet and music in general. She never practices, but that's nothing new. I'm pretty sure I'm the problem, so what do you think i should do about it???????????

Keep practicing.
You are not the problem. Maybe she really isn't interested in playing clarinet but is still in it for family reasons.

Don't worry about it. She'll either decide to keep playing or quit and do something else. Since she's the band director's daughter, she might even switch instruments if she's looking for something she can be 1st chair at without practice. She might find something---but not the clarinet.
