Bacchanale form Samson and Delilah

I know this topic was on the board (12/17/99) before but my question wasn't answered from the post. I'm solo 1st clarinet in the orchestra and was wondering if the 2nd and 3rd clarinet part had the melody in the beginning too. Or if they harmonize it. It probably depends on the arranger, but I wanted to get an idea. THANKS!!!!!

whoah!!! i'm playing that piece too!!! i just started last week tho....

i think they harmonize it. there's a 3rd part?

I think that the first melody is for 1st clarinet only, but latter on, the second joins in unison with the first. The second clar part is basically harmony, but there is a fair amount of unison with the principal--kind of fun!! Played it a couple of years ago, but the memory is a bit foggy this AM.

I played 1st violin in this piece this summer. I didn't pay really close attention to the clarinet part but I think William is right.
