I'm looking to get a new barrel in the next couple of days and I'm going to try a few different kinds out. Does anyone have suggestions, or ones they use that they like and why?

My first questions when I read your post were "What mouthpiece is she playing? - What kind of music? - What sound is she trying to get?"
Maybe others are hesitant to jump in without that info also. If Santa were real, I would ask for a Greg Smith mouthpiece and a selected Chadash barrel to match it.
Still working on the Santa connection . . .

Yeah, that's a good question, here's some info...I'm playing on a Clark Fobes CF+ mouthpiece and a buffet R-13 vintage with a vandoren optimum ligature on v-12 reeds, all of which I'm very happy with. I'd like to get a dark tone, but still projecting, and I'm a freshman music major in college and playing the usual orchestra/band/classic clarinet stuff

Three things to consider:IMHO.1)R-13 Vintage bore is, as you know, less than ordinary R-13's 0.574" . This may need a special consideration about the barrel bottom bore size. 2)Reaming a barrel with the specific mouthpiece is another matter. This makes playing very easier. 3)Some type of mouthpiece need a different barrel length from that of stock one especially when reverse tapered type bvarrel is selected to keep correct pitch.
Considering these three things your first choice might be to consult with Mr.Fobes himiself since he makes his own barrel. http://www.clarkwfobes.com/Barrels.htm
p.s.
Chadash has a smaller bore barrel 'A', which I use for my Selmer 10SII.
DEG has a Moennig type barrel made of aluminum but I never heard they have a barrel for R-13 Vintage. You need to ask them.
Muncy also has grenadilla barrel. You need to ask them the availability of one for R-13 Vintage.

If you find a good Moennig, they can be great. Good tuning, dark focussed tone. But the bottom line is: whatever works for you.

I'd sugest a custom made JEPP barrel. Chris Jepperson is the maker and a sponsor of Sneezey. I got one and love it. It's grenadilla wood not plastic or aluminum and really has a great sound. Dark yet still bright when you change mpc's. I think his website is www.clarinettech.com. Give him a shout and tell him what you're after. He also makes a great cork grease....

John, I replied to this issue/your post previously. I asked Chris Jepperson if his Cork Grease was (simply) Anhydrous Lanolin & he said YES. SO, he doesn't make Cork grease ... no doubt he probably gets it in BULK from a local Pharmacy. Just as I & many other people do.
Katherine, my daughter tried a Chadash 66mm on Saturday that was just INCREDIBLE. We got ours from Greg Smith with some mouthpieces we had on trial.
The best idea when trying barrels or mouthpiecs is to try as MANY as you can. Find one that works best for you.
