Ok quick question. I want to try the Rico Grand Concert reeds, and I was wondering..how do their strengths compare to traditional vandorens?
Thanks all

It depends on which GC's .... I can comment on the Select Thick Blank & the Evolution. I would say very close to the Vandy Traditional. IMO, the Select Thick Blank might be a tad stronger. Of course, when we get up to 3 1/2 & 4 ... an 1/8 of a strength can have REAL meaning in terms of "hard-er to play". I think the Evolutions might be right on with the Traditional or a tad easier to play (I have only tried 2 boxes of the Evolutions, si I hardly qualify as "experienced" with them).

Evolutions are around the same strength as Vandoren Traditional. I have found Vandoren much more inconsistant than the Evolutions thus i swapped to them a while ago. Prob as MW says they are about the same strength as the softer couple of reeds that u'd find in a box of Vandoren Traditionals. My advice would be to buy a few reeds of differing strengths and then see which suits you.
