Has anyone hear used Vintage reeds by Reeds Australia? I am currently debating on whether or not to try them. My stand partner loved them, and thought they were better than Vandoren V-12's which I currently use. Any thoughts? Oh if only Olivieri reeds lasted more than a week! Those are my favorite except for their short life span.

Oliveri was recently purchased by Phil Muncy, who plans to return the reed brand to it's stature of the 1980's and earlier. French VAR cane is a difficult commodity to beat. South America & Australian Cane have come a long way. mw

I've tried the Vintage reeds. They played pretty well, but for some reason didn't seem to handle "futzing" really well. I had difficulty adjusting them without totally losing the sound. I ended up going back to the Vandoren V-12's. I do remember them being slightly less expensive that the Vandoren reeds.

I use Vintage XL, they are a thick blank like V 12's ---liked them better than the standard Vintage --- they are pretty good although a good V 12 takes some beating.Roger R.
