My 13 year old son is playing a VOX bass clarinet I purchased on eBay. We are trying to learn about the history of the instrument. After searching numerous web-sites, we stumbled across this one. Has anyone heard of a bass clarient made by VOX? Is the VOX a brand made by a larger company? If the serial numbers on the instrument provide a clue, they are: SR 4433 3675A
Thanks!

I've been playing bass clarinet for about 25 years and have never heard of this brand. You may be the proud owner of a Chinese-made generic instrument, for lack of any better information. Is this a plastic bass clarinet, and are there any other markings on it? Also, any idea how old it is?

Barbara and I have colloborated (a la "Blues Clues") and think we have solved the mystery --- We believe the Vox is a Leblanc Vito with a modification for a built-in microphone pickup for amplification.

lol. I assume the pickup, with the accompanying label went right over the logo? I would be amused at least to see a picture.
