Hi all...
Can anyone tell me any information about the 'Rhapsody for Clarinet' written by Willson Osborne? I am having a great deal of trouble finding information about the piece or the composer. Anything would be of help.
yours in clarinetistry

ClarinetBoy -
Here's a quick surfing lesson.
There are two message archives here on Sneezy. First, I clicked on the search link at the main page of this board and looked for Osborne. There were 50 messages, most of which were in 2 or 3 strings, and none of them were much help, other than to show that this question has been asked several times.
Then I clicked on the link to the Sneezy home page http://www.sneezy.org/clarinet/ and then on the link to Search the Klarinet Archives http://www.sneezy.org/Databases/LogsIndex/index.html , where a search on Osborne got 133 hits. At only the 7th link, I found http://www.sneezy.org/Databases/Logs/1995/09/000292.txt , which points you to an article on exactly what you're looking for. I happen to have a link for the International Double Reed Society among my favorites, but it's easy to find though any search engine. They're at http://www.idrs.org/ . A clouple of links later I was at
http://www.idrs.org/www.idrs/publications2/journal2/jnl11/osborne.html , which is the text of the article.
It's a little like practicing a new scale -- slow at first, then possible, then not too hard, then second nature.
Best regards.
