I just saw these new model barrels available for Bb and A clarinets. How are these barrels like?

I received a Rondo barrel, and I am happy to report that it has really improved the sound quality. Compared to the stock barrel the sound is more open, round and full. Now Buffet needs to improve the keywork to be much better than it is.

Do you have any idea of what the internals are like? Curious how their dimensions compare to the other Buffet aftermarket barrels (Moennig, Chadash, ICON).

The shape of the barrel is different than the other barrels from Buffet. It resembles the barrel shape of Viennese clarinets. I think to give the more open sound the bore is slightly larger than standard. I checked the weight, and it is the same as the standard barrel. The intonation is also very good with the Rondo barrel. This product is a success in my opinion. It is compatible for Bb and A Buffet clarinets and comes in length 63-67mms.

For those who have tried this barrel- I have seen some comments talking about the changes in tone quality. Is there any difference in projection or volume of the sound from the standard stock barrels?

Two stock Buffet barrels can be as different as almost any two barrels. Considering how they are made it's no surprise. Maybe not as different as if you take (e.g.) a Selmer barrel and compare with a Buffet barrel but still.

Could anyone elaborate how a Viennese barrel shaped differently from a French barrel?
