Lighter fluid is a good solvent for glue residue. I use it on mouthpieces that have residue left from mouthpiece patches.

You'll find that it takes several passes. I use alcohol and do a first pass to see how much comes off. The typical glue will "gum up" and so after a few wipes with alcohol I use my finger pad to move the gummy stuff together is little piles then wipe those off little by little it all comes off but for me takes 15 minutes or so and each pad had different glue so differs on how easily it comes off just my 2ยข
