Hi Everyone,
I recently acquired a couple of signed Scott barrels, 66mm and 65mm. The 65mm barrel has "aa 2" written on it.
Does anyone know how to decipher this code?
Thank you!

Hi All,
I have a couple of Bob Scott barrels in aa2. I emailed him many years ago asking which barrel of his would lower the wide 12th on my LeBlanc clarinet. He replied, "A lot of players use my aa2s on their R13s to lower the 12th; I think this barrel will work for you,,,"
I got both a 65mm and 66mm and they worked just fine. I also have Moening and Chadash barrels with the same reverse taper; the Scott barrels play just about the same.
At a later date, a tech I know said that he could duplicate the reverse taper using a certain reamer. I sent him a wooden barrel and for just a few dollars he worked his magic. The modified barrel played just about the same as any I mentioned above. I used that barrel for many years. I wish I could remember the number/taper#.
Hank
PS I've sat with Bob Scott at his bench when he adjusted a couple of my clarinets. What an interesting guy! Everyone liked him very much. A real legend.

Thanks Hank! I didn't know a lot about Bob, but have heard only good things about his work. I really appreciate the explanation!
