Hi:
I recently inherited an older professional Selmer Soprano horn that plays well but that I am thinking of getting overhauled, including its keys re-plated.
I know Anderson Replating in Elkhart is one of the go to places for the re-plating but, as they seem to advertise instrument repair on their website, I wonder if anyone has used and liked them for a complete instrument overhaul as well.
https://andersonsilverplating.com/band-instrument-services/
Literally across the street from a Conn-Selmer property, I'd have to think that Anderson has access to those who know about the horn.
Does anyone have a tech they'd recommend in the Elkhart area, or one in the Continental US who regularly turfs electroplating out [to Anderson?]
It's my understanding that rarely do repair techs do their own electroplating given the cost of meeting EPA regulations to open a facility that couldn't be cost justified for the occasional re-plating job.
Thanks.

Hi Second Try,
You should contact Eric Satterlee at Meridian Winds. He deals regularly with Anderson and his repair shop is tremendous. Check this out at https://www.meridianwinds.com/
Also see his page on FB for a lot of repair photos. https://www.facebook.com/meridianwinds
Hank
PS If you call Eric, mention my name. I have no business relationship with Eric or MW. I'm just a satisfied customer.

I can highly recommend John Butler.John has sent several Buffet clarinets to Anderson for replacing and overhauls and restores clarinets to the highest possible professional level. He advertises on this Board . I am a long time professional clarinetist and can highly recommend him.
