Südtirol in Concert has just put a concert on Youtube with Liquorice playing the Mozart Clarinet Concerto. His absolutely wonderful performance, on a period basset clarinet with Orchestra La Scintilla (Opernhaus Zürich) has already reached over 23,000 viewers. The Adagio is just superb.

Bravo indeed! I had no idea that a basset clarinet could produce such warm, light and melodious tones. It appears that the two female flutists were also playing period instruments. At first, I thought all of the violinists were female. Then, I noticed the fellow all the way to the right. Just an interesting observation.
A true joy to listen to!

Thank you for the information! -wonderful performance, full of life, warmth, variety and sensitivity of phrasing. We've all been hearing and playing this piece our whole lives long, but here everything sounds fresh and new.

Great performance! And well recorded/filmed too. I was impressed how well the soloist conquered all the technical and mechanical limitations of his instrument.

Really nice rendition and playing - Bravo! I also really enjoyed the small orchestra -it really helped made the piece come alive. No more players are needed, IMO.
