About a month ago I purchased an Uebel Advantage. I had saved up enough money to buy a new R13 (although I hadn't ruled out a used R13, should I find one that plays better).
I had done minimal research on Uebel clarinets because I never thought that I would purchase a clarinet that I'd never really heard of, aside from knowing that my local shop carried them. I was stunned by its performance, to be honest. I am just a hobbyist so I had no reservations whatsoever about purchasing that horn over an R13, as I didn't care about having that name recognition (because I don't have to worry about auditions and things of the sort)
The guy that sold it to me was like "oh yeah for the price this is such a popular horn" but I promise it had absolutely NOTHING to do with the price difference. I loved the horn and the way it played, the way it sounded, the consistency, and the intonation. I love it a lot, I never could've imagined finding a horn that plays so consistently across all registers. I am so in love with it. Anyone else had a similar experience?

That's great that you found such a good instrument and that you enjoy it so much. You will have such a great time playing it.
I had the same experience when I went to buy my clarinet. I didn't know much about brands but had heard that an R13 was the thing. The money sort of came along unexpectedly and I had no idea of being able to afford such a thing before. When the opportunity came, I just went to the shop and tried lots of instruments in the same price bracket. It was the Yamaha Custom CX that really was head and shoulders above the rest for me. I didn't try an Uebel so can't compare. I bought the Yamaha and have been very happy with it. I think partly the ergonomics of it just fit my own hands best.
It's great that you found one that suits you so well. I hope you have a wonderful time with it.

Though not their "top of the line," I found the Uebel Advantage to be one of the best horns out there.......even a possible R13 "slayer." They have an immediacy and vibrance to their sound that makes them in some ways better than their brother the Uebel Superior. I never tried the Zenith so I cannot comment on that, but had I purchased an Advantage at the time I had an unsuccessful attempt at a Superior, I think I'd still be playing Uebel.
