One of these C clarinets is longer than the other.
The top one (Noblet) measures 508.5mm and the lower one (Masspacher/Couesnon) measures 513.5mm from barrel to bell.
The bore diameter on the the Noblet is 14.6mm and the Masspacher is 14.5mm.
Do you reckon:
A - they both play at the same pitch,
B - the top one plays flatter than the lower one, or
C - the top one plays sharper than the lower one?

If the measurements include the barrels as shown and the barrels are both pushed all the way on, I'd guess the the top (shorter) clarinet plays sharper than the lower (longer) one. But I'm detecting something else going on here . . .

Were both horns manufactured with originally intended A440 or A442?

Let's just say one of them plays at 440Hz and the other one can play at 440Hz with the barrel pulled out by around 2mm.

My guess is that the Couesnon has a longer bore flare and larger tone holes. This was pretty common on older French instruments.

If I understand correctly how the acoustics work, longer = flatter while wider = sharper. So, ignoring other variables, the two instruments could be pitched about the same.
Wider = flatter would seem intuitively correct, but that's not how it works.
