I heard the Mozart aria: Non Piu di Fiori on France-Musique recently. I believe the singer was Margaret Price and the basset horn was played by Tony Pay: wondrous clarinet playing. Full of variety of articulation and phrasing; full of life and dramatic contrast. What recording would this be? Does this come from a collection of opera arias or from the full opera? (La Clemenza di...) I'd like to get my hands on the recording. The basset horn is, I assume, a historically-informed one.

I never played with Margaret Price, unfortunately.
There is a recording with Magdalena Kozena, OAE with Simon Rattle.

Thank you, Tony. Not Margaret Price, but you could do worse than Magdalena Kozena!

Dear Ron: I'm glad I was able to put you on to it! The only trouble is that it will now be hard for me to hear other versions of it.
