Steven Banks is excellent on baritone sax and alto sax, but on soprano sax he may be without peer; I'd never heard anyone play Mozart on that instrument without it sounding like a slightly unidiomatic transcription, but in this performance of Mozart's Oboe Quartet in F Major, K. 370, if I didn't know it was an impossible anachronism, I could easily believe Mozart wrote the piece for saxophone.

I don't fully understand why, as someone who spent a lot of time playing saxophones - that as I've grown older, I can't stand hearing soprano saxophone. I've simply grown to hate the instrument's sound.
Yet - the link you shared is positively beautiful! Steven Banks plays the soprano beautifully! Wow! For me it was a perception-changing performance.
