I was wondering if anybody's heard of or had any experience with this brand, because I've never heard of it and but the picture looks good.

Sara -
At the current bid of $11.50 it would be OK, but I wouldn't go much higher. The telltale sign is the design of the keys. On well made instruments, the struts that connect the rod to the pad cup go only to the center of the cup. On cheaply made instruments, the strut goes past the center of the cup, almost to the far edge. That's the design on the eBay instrument. Look at the sliver key for the right ring finger, where this shows clearly. Almost always, the keys with this design are made of "pot metal" which breaks easily and can't be fixed.
The case might be worth the $15, though ;-)
Best regards.

I've had a Pierre Marceau since the mid '60s, purchased new from my old teacher just before I went to 'Nam. MSRP was $125 and I paid $55 (still have receipt). Mine is not marked *special* but is a wonderful horn, and Special to me. I'll have to check the pad cup design. But, it has withstood a lot of key bending in 30+ years.
