Hi all,
I'm a junior at Oberlin High School and I am planning on purchasing a low C bass clarinet. Ever since I tried bass clarinet at our youth orchestra, I have been wanting one for myself ever since.
I've seen two brands that would be (relatively) within my price range: the Kessler 2nd Generation Low C and the Allora AABC-304 Low C. However, while I've seen good reviews for the Kessler, I'm not sure what to think of the Allora model. If anyone has played these, I'd appreciate advice on which is better. (Keeping in mind I know nothing about instrument repairs myself)
Thanks,
Nathan

The two are almost identical from a design standpoint. However the Kessler is professionally set up and adjusted whereas the Allora will likely need repairs and adjustments when you first receive it. I would choose the Kessler as you are almost guaranteed not to have to put additional money into it.
