Not sure if this is a trend that more and more players begin to make reeds themselves.

Takes too long! Also the splitter will surely cut your fingers at one point. It's probably a 1 1/2 hour reed making process - per reed.
His way is surely an art that needs to be admired.

Hi together, hi Bob
I know Hanstoni Kaufmann very well and already took part in some of the courses he gives about making your own reed or correcting reeds you have bought.
What I want to say: he's a true artist and a lovely man and also a great teacher, and the way he makes his reeds is pretty easy, safe (no real danger to cut your fingers, not even for me haha) and it is really fast. I saw him make some reeds and it really takes just a few minutes for him and they come out great. Of course you have to practice... my reeds take much longer of course and aren't half as good. He reminded us however to divide some of the work you have to do on different days that the cane can "relax" and the reed gets more stable once it is finished.
So if anyone has the chance to get to know him or to buy one of his books, I think this would be great for any clarinetist who wants to learn something about reeds.
Edited because of spelling mistakes

Hi Bob
I don't know of any videos, but there are English versions of both of his books as far as I know (but I'm not sure). The first book is about correcting reeds and the second one how to make reeds on your own. As already said, I can only highly recommend them.
Maybe you can ask him directly, his mail address is listed on those pages: https://www.blattbau.ch/klarinettenblaetter/
