Hi,
I recently purchased a Buffet Prestige Low C Bass Clarinet which is playing absolutely superbly - its tone is gorgeous and its playability is even better than I thought it would be.
However, clarion Eb comes out stuffy, and is quite resistant. This issue arose recently when I was performing Symphonic Dances from WSS (the Cha-cha is where it was real problem), and I don't really know what's causing it.
The low Ab is not having the same issue, so I don't think it's a air leak...
Anybody got any ideas what the issue might be?
Thanks!

The double register vent mechanism may be out of adjustment. Make sure when one vent opens the other closes completely.

If your are not familiar with the mechanism then it's probably a good ideal to let someone who is more qualified adjust it for you. Double register vent mechanisms are very tricky to get just right.
