I wanted a clarinet case to protect my R13 as the Buffet one I felt was insufficient protection and possibly damaging it. I redid the original ponchette in new velour and frankly it looks stunning but in order to let it close there has to be literally no padding in critical areas. I found a case which in many ways looks like the best of the original Buffet cases. Of course it doesn't have the Buffet logo on it but neither does my 1986 R13 whose logos have long since worn off. Here's a link to the case which is sturdy and classic looking, and at $65.00 delivered it is quite a bargain. As one might expect, from any product coming from China, it might be a good value but it arrives with a mild odor of toxic chemicals likely used in the glues. It airs out quickly. As an aside, I recently ordered a wooden chess set which came from China and I had to air that one out too. https://www.amazon.com/Professional-Replacement-Clarinet-Imitation-Leather/dp/B00NO6TVUW/ref=lp_11969431_1_1_sspa?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1519048736&sr=1-1-spons&psc=1

For about the same price you should purchase a new Protec Pro Pac case. Its a no brainer.

I typically carry 2 or 3 instruments at one time (this week I have concerts on oboe and clarinet and clarinet and flute), which I carry in either alto flute/computer backpacks, or the large pockets of a sax or bass clarinet case.
The Protec cases are too large to fit.

Are you looking for a double case? Probably not. I agree that Protec makes a very nice case. Bam is decent depending on the model.
Yamaha cases are actually pretty decent as well for their top horns.
I think the best case, but be prepared to spend a lot of money, is the Marcus Bonno. Why do I like it so much you may ask yourself. The double case runs about $450 and more for a double case. Here's why I like it. Nothing touches the keys! That's right Nothing hits the keys. The clarinet kind of floats in the case. Am amazing design. It's well insulated and there is room a lot of room for your accessories and your music. Holds 2 barrels, but again plenty of room to store 4 barrels and 3 or 4 mouthpieces, and 3 or 4 boxes of reeds. It's classy looking.
The keys will never get out of adjustment like the Buffet cases. This is actually why I switched horns. I had a NEW Buffet double case and it was bending one of the lower joint keys on the new R13's. Buffet lists these cases at $550. I asked them to replace the case but the case isn't under warranty. What? You spend $8000 on a set of R13's, the case bends the keys and the case isn't under warranty? It's friggin NEW! So everytime I use the case I have to have the instrument repaired? According to the president of Buffet in Florida that was his answer. Wow! About 8 months later I dumped Buffet and sold 16 Buffet R13 clarinets and went with Yamaha. During this time I bought the Marcus Bonno case. It's great! Who else makes a case where the clarinet floats and the keys are never touched. Perfect! I got mine at Washington Music Center in Silver Spring, MD It's probably still around $450. The last case you will ever buy.

My double case is the BAM...very crowded in there, but works.
I like the Yamaha case; works great for my CSGII. The Pochette shape is good, when traveling with multiple instruments, and offers very good protection.
The Opus II I keep in the Winter has an alternate left hand Eb key which at first I was concerned would be bent, but happily is not.
I would have to say I have only found one Buffet to suit me; a 1971 S1.
However, the response of the Buffet president is absurd at best, though I suspect you found the Yamaha a wonderful instrument, as have I.

I never have a problem with the current single Bb Buffet cases using a standard R13 Bb.
