I actually made the Wind Ensemble for Seminole High School!!!!!! AHHHHH thats caraziness! Im in 8th goin to be a freshman and i made the clarinet sectional! Im happy because i had used a solo that i couldnt keep a steady tempo on. Of course he cracked on me for it but he said i nailed the sight reading piece that nobody else was. Thank goodness. well...... i rele need to get in shape for next year if i wanna keep my position. So i would like some suggestions on pieces to work on around the grade 05 level and some good theory books. I have the musicality technicality and a good tone for now say all my teachers.... but i would like to prove upon my steady tempo skills and scales. I would appreciate any suggestions.SHS rocks! and o yea the wind ensemble has been invited to a competion that only t he 15 best bands in the country are invited to. and they have been invited for so many years in a row. Happiness

I recommend, first and formost, learning all of your major scales. If you're really daring, you can learn the Circle of Fifths.
Next, I strongly recommend taking lessons over the summer (if you aren't already planning on it). Your teacher will help you with as much as they can.
Lastly, you have to keep it fun. The last thing you want to do is get incredibly stressed out over the summer.

Teh Seminole high SChool you are talking about is in Florida right? Cause I am going to go to Seminole in Florida. What middle school did you go to? I am also in the Wind Ensemble.

to help with your tempo problems get a metronome and use it with EVERYTHING that you play and that should take care of it
