hmmm.... wonder what happened to the second bell?
two mouth pieces, two bells, one barral, and single 1st and second joint..
looks like a nice horn....
on htat sax picture... it is a revers pic..... look at the keys.... the left side of the sax is basicly keyles... and the right side is covered..... the one in the pic is not like that....

Bill, what makes you think only 250 were manufactured? (this was the GIST of my post to begin with ...) : ) In fact, it might have been only 100 ... OR .... it might be considerably more than 250.
Charlie Fail has had his horn for awhile. They put it on, take it off ... you get the picture. [Charlie Fail had a Selmer, Paris double-walled silver horn that was priced at $800. It was immaculate & polished up beautifully. Had original mouthpiece I think & all the emblems really showed nicely. I wish I had bought it .... it was grabbed pretty quickly ... this all happening about 8 to 9 months ago.]
FWIW ---- I have a friend who bought from Charlie Fail & has been very happy. They stand behind their sales 100% with full-return privelege (sp?). I own a hornt a horn that was overhaulked at Roberto's just after Jacobi came on board. NICE.
So anyway ... both are quite reputable , I think. Doesn't guarantee that facts in deceriptions, etc. are always correct though.

The Fail site said 100 and the other 250, so I mentioned by the higher number. I was just going by what I read, and I have no idea how many were made. If there were such a small number made, I thought was interesting that the location of 2 of that number were known. Haynes has good records, and I wonder if they could provide the exact number? I'm not that interested, although it would be nice to have one to match my Haynes' flute. The one on Fail's site is much cheaper than a Haynes flute. Hmmm - tempting.

Yes, that's the problem!. Thats how rumors get started, how we swap incorrect info & the like. SO, I started the conversation to discuss, in part, MYTHS !
To my way of thinking, it matters not whether 100 or 250 is correct, they both denote a rare clarinet. Rather, its the fact that one or the other or both could be selling something quoting heresay .... and thats not good for the consumer. SO, t caveat emptor is the rule of the day.
My past searches through the Klarinet Archives has found postings that would indicate that some matched Bb & A sets were sold, as well as a Eb clarinet (to play duets with the Haynes Picolo, no doubt!)

I agree, and that's why I put the at the end of my remark. Instead of being interpreted as a smiley face, it was actually a symbol of sarcasm. I'm still curious if Haynes has records, but not curious enough to give them a call.
