 Play Clarinet Like Trumpet

There's a story behind this one, so bear with me. I'm a fourteen year-old player, and my highschool band goes to all our school's football games. Last Thursday, we were at a game for a particularly long time, so I was tired and bored (I'm not into sports). As a result, I became a bit of an ******* and started noodling around on a pentatonic scale really loudly, resulting in the flutist in front of me ripping away my clarinet and disassembling it. I was able to get all but the mouthpiece and barrel back, but I managed to continue playing by imitating what I think trumpet players do into the top of my clarinet. It worked and actually sounded okay (albeit not with most fingerings).
TL;DR I discovered I can play my clarinet without the barrel and mouthpiece by doing what I imagine trumpeters do to their trumpets.

What you have is essentially a cornetto with keys (look it up).
