Hi all,
I would like to get a bit more information about a few clarinets that I have collected over the years.
The first one is an Evette-Schaeffer, Buffet Crampon clarinet. All wood. Beautiful sound. Serial number is K55887. It tried to look up the serial number, but it seems to be either 1981 (for Buffet E-13) or 1956/57 (for just Buffet). No mention of K-series in that list either. Very similar in appearance to R-13 Buffet model.
Logo shows Evette at the top (curved), Schaeffer at the bottom (also curved) and Buffet Crampon in the middle. Plenty of wear marks on the plated keys. has been played a lot before I got it and am just playing the odd piece now and then myself.
Can someone confirm age and value for insurance?
Second one:
No markings on this one, except for a J.R.Wilson, french design note on the bell. By the looks this one is made of some sort of plastic. It plays all right. Everything works. Reasonably in tune, but missing the warm sound of the ES above.
Can't seem to find any information about this brand or origin.
Any suggestions?
Final one:
Bit of a funny one this is.
The bell looks like bakelite. Has a print that seems to read Besson, London and below a logo like a wreath, with a crown at the top and EMBASSY along the bottom end.
The wooden barrel has a logo like a globe with a music staff partly wrapped around it and a single note above it.
Lower section (wood) has no brand name but has a serial number 169556 and below it says 628.
Upper section (wood) shows again the Besson London logo, and serial number.
Any idea on age and value for this one?
All suggestions welcome.
And happy to try and post some pictures, though haven't posted any on this forum, so may take a while.
