 Time for a New Piece
Author: Sara
Date:   2001-05-05 23:02

I'm looking for a new piece to work on for the end of school and the better part of summer. I just finished Rossini's Intro, Theme and Var. and Weber concertino this past winter. What would be a good piece for my ability level to start up? I was going to the sheet music store this coming Monday.
Thanks, Sara :)

The Lutoslawski 5 pieces are great, as is the Malcolm Arnold Sonatina. Have fun :-)

SONATA by Paul Hindemuth. Musically challenging. I assume you have done the Mozart, but if not--why not? Have a great summer!!!!!

Why not go to a university music library and see what's there that you would like to try? Divulge into the unknown!

Do you know the Finzi concerto? I just learned it and I love it so much that I'm telling everyone they've got to hear it. Few people have heard of it, but it's so beautiful!

I can't go to the library and check it out, I'm still in high school. I haven't really had the chance to pick out my pieces. I didn' really play music for the first year I played, the in Dec. of my freshmen year, I started taking private lessons with an awesome private teacher, and until now hes picked all the pieces that I played, for the most part. Now i have the chance to pick something to fit my tastes, just for fun!! Becasue hats what playing should be in the first place-fun!
