I't ve been playing a Kohkert(grenadilla wood) alto clarinet for about a year and want to change the mouthpiece. I use a no-brand plastic piece with Vandoren 2.5 reed
. Thank you for your suggestions.

I recently purchased a Clark Fobes mouthpieces for my LeBlanc alto. He suggested using an Alto sax Vandoren Jazz reed. The combination has been very satisfactory. Check the sponsers board on this web page for his address.

Mary, thank you for your reply. Which Fobes piece are you using? Thanks.

Clark Fobes makes his own alto clarinet mouth pieces. He sent me three to try out. I am using the medium faced one. I use a 2 1/2 Vand. java reed for alto sax. I can use a 3 for alittle while but then it is hard to push air thru. I also use a Rovner lig. The combination of the 3 have helped my tone especially in lower registers. Did you check you his page on the sponser page?
I play in a community band so it is more a hobby than a full time profession. Good luck.
