Leonard,
If it's of any help to you, my Noblet Bb clarinet has the N above the Noblet logo exactly as you described it. The serial number is 56266. My repair tech contacted Leblanc and determined that it's date of manufacture is 1966.
This is a superb clarinet and I don't think of it as an intermeditae level instrument. In talking with Ralph Morgan about my Noblet (which I only recently acquired and had overhauled) he told me that he holds older Noblet clarinets in high regard. In addition, after my repair tech completed the overhaul he described this clarinet as "one of the finest of this maker I have played". I really love the tonal qualities of this clarinet. The set up I'm using on it is a Morgan RM15 mouthpiece, Alexander Classique reeds, and either a brass or silver Francois Louis ligature.
